Houston: Thanksgiving at the Salvation Army

Touched After Helping Out By Elizabeth Vass

After helping out on Thanksgiving at Salvation Army, I realized and saw how much I have and how much I should appreciate what I have. I really was touched after helping out. When you are there, the Salvation Army employees treat you like family. They are always smiling and will go above and beyond to help everyone settle in quickly. The volunteers that I met are very gracious and easy to carry a conversation. I loved going to help them out on Thanksgiving. I also look forward to going on Christmas day to help out again. I encourage those who have been thinking about it or procrastinating to come and help out too. It is a very rewarding experience that will stay with you for a long time!!
