Group Information
| Group Name | Sacred Site Visits |
| Description | A Sacred Site Visit is designed to help build an understanding of the many faith traditions that exist. This is done by experiencing first hand the specific form of worship and visiting the actual venue of tradition. By creating an environment where individuals can learn about each other's beliefs, we hope to begin a process of social and interfaith harmony. Houston Smith, author of The World's Religions, said that "the only thing that is unqualifiedly good is extended vision, the enlargement of one's understanding of the ultimate nature of things".
A Sacred Site Visit is conducted on a quarterly basis. After the specific form of worship, a tour of the venue is typically arranged. In addition, some educational material is provided on the specific tradition as well.
Be The Cause uses the Sacred Site Visit as an opportunity to bridge the gap between Faith and Service. Attendees of the visiting tradition will typically gain an understanding of Be the Cause and its mission to "inspire service."
Occasionally, our group will go and eat at a nearby vegetarian restaurant. In some cases, the churches/temples have food after the service, so we will eat there. |
